Here at T Time Basketball Training we believe basketball can teach children much more than how to shoot, dribble and score. It can help them develop confidence, resilience, discipline and self-belief that they can carry into everyday life.
At T Time Basketball, every player is treated as an individual. Training is tailored to their age, experience, ability and goals, creating an environment where they can learn, make mistakes, challenge themselves and enjoy the game.
We are a small family owned business with a passion for Basketall.
Coach T has worked with young teams throughout his coaching career, achieving fantastic results both on and off the court. For him, the greatest reward is watching players develop not only as athletes, but as well-rounded, confident and mature young adults.
Among his most celebrated teams were the Grade 1 Wesley girls and the Toorak Terminators, whom he coached from Grade 1 through to Grade 5. During their time competing in the Playball competition in Melbourne, both teams achieved outstanding results, recording a combined four grand final victories—one with the Wesley girls and three with the Toorak Terminators—as well as a runners-up finish.
Beyond the wins, Coach T’s greatest impact was in the relationships he built with his players. He mentored the Toorak boys throughout their primary school years, helping them develop teamwork, build lasting friendships and navigate the challenges of growing up.
These experiences reflect what Coach T values most: developing young people through basketball, creating positive connections and helping players become the best versions of themselves—on and off the court.
More than a basketball coach. A player, mentor and someone kids genuinely connect with.
Coach T was born and raised in Gary, Indiana (the hometown of the Jackson 5) where basketball was part of everyday life from an early age.
His own basketball journey took him from captaining his high school team and earning a full college basketball scholarship in California to playing professionally overseas in the Philippines and Malaysia. After making Australia home, he went on to become a 4-time champion and MVP in the Mebourne Basketball League, compete in Big V, play in New Zealand and continue competing in 3×3 tournaments.
What makes Coach T different is more than his experience on the court.
It’s the depth and range of his experience working with young people.
Since arriving in Australia, Coach T has worked with children and young people across a diverse range of environments, including Bounce, Basketball Victoria, and private, state, special and independent schools. His experience also includes dedicated support work with young people who have become disengaged from traditional education, giving him an understanding of young people that extends well beyond the basketball court.
Alongside his school and community work, he has provided high-level private basketball coaching.
That experience has shaped the way he coaches.
Coach T understands that not every kid learns the same way, responds to the same coach, or builds confidence at the same pace. He knows when to push, when to encourage, and how to connect with a young person who may not respond to a traditional coaching approach.
Now based on the Gold Coast with his family, Coach T brings his professional playing experience, international perspective, private coaching background and extensive work with young people in Australian schools and community environments to every session.
His goal isn’t simply to produce better basketball players. It’s to help kids become more confident, more capable and more resilient—on the court and in life.
